Up to now, the development of real time control systems for urban drainage systems represents a rather time and resource consuming task. Based on the fundamental principles of a general control algorithm developed earlier at ifak, universal control modules have been developed – in cooperation with the automation company SEGNO and with the Hanover University – which allow a straightforward and easily-configurable set up of real time control systems. The modules are put in practice in the urban drainage system of Hildesheim.
