Rapid Planning

Due to increasing urbanisation, planning of infrastructure systems (such as water, wastewater, solid waste, energy) plays an important role. Often, such planning is carried out separately for each sector. Within this project, ideas for transsectoral planning concepts under data-scarce conditions are compiled in cooperation with other partners. Such concepts will allow synergies between the various sectors and interactions of resource fluxes to be used. Methods and results of several of the BMBF “Future megacity” projects are being built upon. ifak contributes with its expertise of water and wastewater management as well its expertise in simulation of megacity systems.
