The engineering of decentral / distributed automation systems requires an efficient exchange of engineering data between software tools of different vendors. This requirement will be more and more important under consideration of Industrie 4.0 activities. Aim of the project UdinE is to support the international standardization of the engineering of industrial controllers based on IEC 61131. In focus are especially the new 3rd edition of part 3, the upcoming standard IEC161131-10 and the planned standardization of the OPC UA information model for PLCs, Supporting these activities class diagrams and XML libraries shall be developed in order to support platform independent collaboration. The results shall be published via IEC and user organizations, e.g. PLCopen. Results will also be brought in AutomationML for improving the information flow between engineering tools.
